The parade of KARITON made of indigenous materials bedecked with flowers, fruits and vegetables have greatly fascinated the people of Tupi. The youth, our children and adults alike enjoy the display of their own artworks.

Most of us, specially our Purok officials have discovered our hidden artistic talents and have developed our resourcefulness and creativity due to our desire and drive to win as the best Kariton in town.

The KARITON FESTIVAL also encourages us to use recyclable materials so that waste segregation is also implemented. We look forward to this event for we consider this as the highlight of all the activities during the anniversary celebrations. People participation is enhanced through this activity. The spirit of unity and cooperation are so visible during the preparation up to the final display and parade of the KARITON. Every participant share there own ideas, time and talent even their money just to have a perfect work of art. In general, we the constituents of Barangay Poblacion, Tupi, South Cotabato, believe, that this KARITON FESTIVAL must continue and must be celebrated every year to be recognized internationally.
